The storm on Saturday didn’t hit Pella as hard as other parts of Marion County, but some tulips did sustain damage.

Bonnie Verberg, Director of the Vermeer Windmill says the early blooming tulips lost their petals, but many of the late season tulips are fine. The mid season tulips look fine from a distance, but show damage when viewed up close. She says there isn’t much you can do to protect the tulips from heavy winds.
