Placing all four of their scorers in the top ten individually, the PCM girls golf team kept their impressive season rolling with a first-place finish – while Pella Christian finished in sixth – in Monday’s District Meet at State Center.

The Mustangs held off a hard-charging West Marshall squad – which had the benefit of playing on its own course – and set a new team 18-hole record in the process. Their 381 was eight strokes better than the previous record set this season, and gave them a 12-stroke victory over the Trojans. Pella Christian’s team score of 456 put them in front of CMB and Eddyville-Blakesburg, but was not enough to extend the season for the Lady Eagles.

Individual runner-up Maddie Peters fired an 89 to lead the Mustangs, who kept their top four scores all below 100 – including personal bests from Kaitlyn Wilkie (96) and Kelsey Van Veen (97). Up next for the PCM girls golf team is the Regional Tournament at Pine Lake Country Club in Eldora.
