Emergency crews in Pella received many calls about Tulip Time goers who fainted from the heat Thursday. The heat and humidity can take a lot of fluids from a person. Doug Polking, Pella Ambulance Director says you should drink a bottle of water every 1 or 2 hours that you are in the sun and walking around to stay hydrated. People in wool Dutch costumes are especially prone to dehydration. Polking says if you do begin to feel faint, to find a place to rest and get out of the sun.
