A tough night at the plate proved too much for the Pella High baseball team to overcome, as they were downed 7-2 by Norwalk in Wednesday night’s Little Hawkeye Conference opener.

It was the first Varsity start for Little Dutch pitcher Tanner Wood, who managed his first outing well, but took the loss after allowing five earned runs in four innings of work.  Schyler Kane led Pella at the plate, going 2-for-4, but the Little Dutch would not cross the plate until they scored twice in the sixth inning, but by then it was too late.

It’s the first loss of the season for the Pella High baseball team, who falls to 2-1 overall and travels to Chariton tonight for a non-conference match-up with the Chargers.
