The first hurdle in reaching the State Golf Tournament was cleared Wednesday by the Pella High boys golf team, as the Little Dutch earned a second place finish in their Sectional Meet at Norwalk.  Playing at the Willow Creek Golf Course, Pella carded a combined 319 – 11 strokes back of first place Centerville.  The Knoxville boys golf team competed at the same Sectional, finishing in seventh with a 354.

Pella High’s Lucas Boyd led all golfers with an even-par 72 to earn medalist honors, while Knoxville’s Bryant McWilliams had the low round for the Panthers – placing fifth overall with a 78.  The Little Dutch now have a lengthy lay-off before the District Golf Meet, which will be held Friday, May 18th, at the River Valley Golf Course; hosted by ADM.
