After an extremely difficult start to the season, things appear to be turning around for the Pella Christian girls soccer team; as was evident in the Lady Eagles 5-0 win at Centerville Monday night. Pella Christian put up all five of their goals by halftime – all by different players. Bri Warden had three assists, along with one of the goals. Defensively, Jalissa Morgan led the way with 23 stops for the Lady Eagles, who shut down the Big Red and required goalkeeper Jenna Roose to stop just two shots on the night. The Pella Christian girls soccer team is now 3-7 overall and hosts Oskaloosa tonight.

An early lead nearly slipped away from the Pella Christian boys soccer team, who escaped Centerville Monday night with a 4-3 victory. A Dan Hessing goal put the Eagles on the board first, and the 1-0 score held through intermission. Following a Centerville score, Hessing tacked on two more goals in the second half, but the Big Red put together an offensive surge that added their own pair of goals, tying the game at 3-3. John Admiraal delivered the game-winning goal for the Eagles with just minutes left, helping boost the club’s record to 6-3 overall. Goalkeeper Alek Vink recorded 19 saves in the victory. Up next for Pella Christian is a match at Oskaloosa tonight.
