Pella hosted Nevada at the Soccer Complex on Tuesday night.  The evening before, the Dutch had played at home on turf, and now the quick change back to grass proved to not be as smooth as they had hoped, as they had to hang on for a 2-1 overtime victory.

Nevada played strong and pressured the ball constantly.  Pella goalkeeper Tim Argo made three crucial charging saves on Nevada breakaways throughout the game, as the Cubs speed kept the Pella defense on their toes for the entire competition.  It was 1-0 at halftime, thanks to a mistake by the Nevada defense that allowed Tukker Bogaard an uncontested shot.  Nevada came out hard in the second half, and controlled much of the possession.  They tied the game with a goal in the 51st minute, and the score remained unchanged through regulation.

Pella rose up in the first overtime, dominating possession once more, and with a minute left in the first overtime period, Tukker Bogaard scored on a crossing run to the right of the penalty box.   The Pella High boys soccer team is now 14-2-1 overall on the season.  They’ll host Knoxville for Senior Night on Thursday.
