A relentless attack by the Pella High boys soccer team was too much for cross-town rival Pella Christian to keep up with, as the Little Dutch downed the Eagles 6-1 Friday evening. With Pella Christian’s starting goalkeeper out with injury, the Eagles put former goalie Jordan Van Maanen back between the posts, but his prior experience was of little help, as Pella sent four goals into the back of the net by halftime. With the momentum on their side, Pella added two more goals in the second half, as the Eagles shifted Josh Wetter into goal. The move allowed Jordan Van Maanen to score Pella Christian’s lone goal, as he scored in the 75th minute. The win moves the Pella High boys soccer team to 12-2-1 overall, while Pella Christian ends a treacherous week with an 8-6 overall record after four matches in five days.
