Central College’s Ethan Miller and Allen Scovel have been named the Iowa Conference male athletes of the week. Miller and Scovel were recognized as men’s track and field performers of the week. The pair shares athlete of the week distinction with the baseball performers of the week.

Miller, cited as the field events performer of the week, garnered his fifth league MVP award at the outdoor championships last weekend. He won the triple jump, took runner-up honors in the pole vault, long jump and 110-meter hurdles, placed third in the high jump and finished 18th in the javelin throw. Scovel, the track events performer of the week, also received MVP honors at the conference meet. He captured his second straight 100-meter dash title and was part of the winning 4×100 and 4×400 relays. Scovel took second in the 200 meters.

The men’s squad claimed its fourth consecutive league title, racking up 241 points and winning by a 33-point margin. It’s the program’s 15th outdoor title overall its 14th championship in the past 22 years. The Dutch send a small contingent of athletes to last chance meets this week at Wisconsin-La Crosse and North Central in Illinois before competing at the NCAA Division III championships May 24-26 in Claremont, California.
