Central College’s Tyler Crouse was named to the Capital One Academic All-District men’s track and field/cross country team by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Crouse, a biology major, carried a 3.42 grade point average. He was a first-team all-district pick and advances to the national ballot, to be voted on next week, for Academic All-America honors.
A team co-captain, Crouse was a three-time national qualifier. He advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships in the discus in 2009 and 2011 and competed in the hammer throw this year. Crouse was a four-time Iowa Conference individual champion and nine-time all-league performer. Crouse helped the Dutch men capture four consecutive outdoor conference team titles, two indoor crowns and two top-10 finishes at the outdoor championships.
