The 10th Annual KNIA/KRLS Golf Classic – held last week at the Bos Landen Golf Club in Pella – raised $1200 for the food shelves of Marion County.

A total of 16 foursomes of golfers from throughout the county played in the 18-hole tournament, with $10 of each entry fee going toward local food banks.  In addition, challenges on certain holes and donations from sponsoring businesses contributed to the total dollar sum that was raised.

This year’s winner was the team of Barry and Brent Westerkamp, Chad Green and Mike Dykema, who carded an 18-under par 54.

“The event was a huge success and we could not have had a better day for golf,” said KNIA/KRLS General Manager Jim Butler.  “We also want to thank all of our sponsors and all golfers who participated and helped raise money for the Marion County Food Shelves and we look forward to 11th annual KNIA/KRLS Golf Classic next year.”
