The Knoxville Baseball Squad just could not get the timely hit last night as the Panthers lost to Newton 4-3 in eight innings. Knoxville came back from a 3-0 hole to tie the game in the seventh and send it to extra innings, however the Panthers came up short in the bottom half of the eighth after Newton scored in its half of the eighth. Bryce Zoutte took the loss going the full eight innings giving up four runs on six hits, three walks and no strikeouts. The Panthers fall to 3-8 on the season and 2-3 in conference play. Knoxville hosts its own invitational today as the Panthers will host Pella, Clarke, and Dallas Center-Grimes. The first game gets underway at ten.
