A gritty and determined Knoxville Softball Squad put seven innings of good play together and earned a 1-0 win over Oskaloosa last night. The run for Knoxville came home in the third inning when Erica Fee touched home plate Emily Wallace reached on a fielder’s choice. Wallace who also pitched seven strong innings got out of two situations where there were runners on second and third and one out, and a bases loaded jam with one out in the seventh. That coupled with good defense and hitting that is getting better each game made Coach Steph Christner very happy. Wallace scattered seven hits walked three and struck out two for her first career shutout. Erica Fee had two singles to lead the Knoxville batting. The Panthers are 7-14 on the season and 4-4 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. The Panthers are off this weekend and get back to action at Newton Monday night.
