Central College graduate Jarred Lackey put on a showcase in the first half and the Pella Knights breezed the River City Warriors 42-0 Saturday night in Pella.

From the quarterback position, Lackey carried the ball four times for 73 yards and a touchdown on the opening drive of the game and never let up, having a hand in five more scores that put the Knights up 36-0 by intermission.  Lackey finished the night 9-for-14 passing for 178 yards and three touchdowns, complimenting his 115 yards and a score on the ground.

All of those efforts were overshadowed by what he did on defense, though, as a Warriors fumble found its way into his able hands and saw the 6’1″ 225-pounder streak 63 yards in the other direction for a score.  Lackey’s favorite target on the evening was DeMarco Sanders, who caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.

The victory puts the Pella Knights above .500 at 4-3 overall, entering next weekends Midwest Football Alliance match-up in Lincoln, Nebraska, against the Capital City Crush.
