The big bat of Caleb Morgan gave the Pella Christian baseball team a solid lead at Carlisle Tuesday night, but the Eagles faltered late and the Wildcats secured an 8-7 come-from-behind win.  Pella Christian held a 7-0 lead entering the bottom of the sixth – where Carlisle put up two runs – then watched the win slip away with six more Wildcat runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Still it was hard to take the spotlight away from Morgan, who followed up a frustrating outing the night before with two home runs and a stolen base for the Eagles.  Teammate Jordan Rossler went 2-for-3 at the plate, notching a stolen base as well and scoring twice.  Sophomore Colton Collins took the loss, pitching 6 1/3 innings, allowing 9 hits and five walks, while striking out seven Carlisle hitters.

Pella Christian returns to Little Hawkeye Conference play tonight at Norwalk.
