A four-run fourth inning gave the PCM baseball team the advantage it needed to earn a 5-2 win Tuesday night at Pella High.

The Little Dutch attempted a late rally, scoring two runs in the sixth inning, but Kody Wilkie closed the door with three strikeouts in the final two innings to earn the save.  Wilkie also went 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple, scored a run and batted in a run.

Starting pitcher Sean O’Connor earned the win, allowing four hits and two runs in five innings of work, and helping his cause by going 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, an RBI and three stolen bases.  He also made an impressive stretch at first base to make the game’s final put-out.

For Pella High, Trevor Wood and Paul Anderson each had doubles, accounting for half of Pella’s hits.  Ryan Shull took the loss on the mound, striking out three PCM batters, but walked four and granted two passes to first on hit batsmen.
