After a very full week that included a Friday night doubleheader at Grinnell and a tournament at Eddyville-Blakesburg, the Pella Christian baseball team gets a much needed day off today.  Though it’s seemed like a lot of games to digest at once, Eagles’ head coach Brad Rolffs says it’s served as valuable experience for his squad, which features a lot of new or relatively inexperienced players in starting roles.

“Our guys are really trying to figure out where they’re at. We’ve got about three or four returning starters from last year, and there’s a bunch of new kids that are trying to figure out where they fit,” said Rolffs. “We lost all of our conference pitching from last year, but I think this is a good team.”

Following the time off on today, the Eagles return action on Tuesday with a home game against Colfax-Mingo; then add-on a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader with Newton on Wednesday.
