With two gut-wrenching losses already this week, the Pella Christian baseball team is hoping tonight is the night they can break through and earn a victory. The Eagles get two cracks at that elusive win tonight, as they’ll square off against Knoxville for the second time this season. Earlier in the year at Pella Christian, the two teams took a 1-1 game into the 9th inning, before the Panthers came through with several key hits to notch a 5-1 victory.

Eagles’ senior Jordan Rossler says he’s expecting another highly competitive league match-up tonight.

“I feel like any night we come out – no matter who we’re playing and what their record is – the Little Hawkeye Conference this year is just going to be a really tight race all the way to the finish,” said Rossler. “Anybody can beat anybody, really, no matter who’s throwing and who’s at the plate. It’s just going to be a really fun competition…and we’ve got to keep things simple – just go out and play ball.”

Both teams enter tonight’s contest with comparable records, as Pella Christian is 5-11 overall, while Knoxville is 4-11 on the season. Coverage of the varsity nightcap will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS with Eric Gotschall and Cory Houser providing the play-by-play, starting at approximately 7:30 p.m.
