Pella Christian strung together seven innings of solid baseball, but learned firsthand why Davis County is 36-1 this season, as the Eagles were defeated 5-0 Saturday in Pella.
Starting pitcher Josh VanGorp went the distance for Pella Christian, allowing a very respectable six hits, four walks and a hit batsman to the Mustangs; while striking out two batters. Hits were hard to come by for the Eagles, as Dan Hessing’s double led four separate players that were able to reach base on a hit.
The Pella Christian baseball team is now 9-21 overall and scheduled to play against Newton on Tuesday.
