For the second straight game, the Knoxville Little League Squad had plenty of hits…but not enough runs as Knoxville fell to Fairfield in the final game of pool play in the State Little League Tournament yesterday 15-12. Fairfield only scored in two innings, but a seven run first, coupled with an eight run fourth was enough for the Cougars to outdistance the Panthers. While the loss was disappointing, the Knoxville hitting continued to impress as Ben Wallace had a double and a home run, Patrick Crawford and R.J. Roberts also doubled. Wallace had three R-B-I, Kyle Ramsey had two R-B-I, and Tyler Vaske, Joe Hollinrake, and Rylan Cox had one R-B-I each. The Panthers finish pool play with an 0-3 record which means a likely first round bracket play match up with the first place team in the other pool.
