A boil order is place south of Pershing into Attica after a water main break Thursday night. Roy Mortenson, with Pershing Utilities, says that the water main has been fixed, but the boil order remains in place for now. The utility company had to lower water pressure in order to fix the main, which necessitated the boil order. If you have infants or run a daycare, do not boil your water for children. Instead, you should only have bottled water. When water boils, the minerals tend to concentrate, creating a situation that’s not good for a child’s system. Pershing Utilities representative say flushing of the pipes continues, and testing will follow. The hope is that the boil order will be lifted on Monday.
