MacKenzie Gott’s strong pitching and Oskaloosa’s power at the plate proved too much for Pella Thursday night, as they saw their season end with a 10-0, six inning loss in the opening round of the Class 4A Regional softball tournament.

It was an uphill battle all game long for the Lady Dutch, as the Indians plated six runs in the first inning before Pella even batted. Oskaloosa’s bats didn’t cool down either, as they pounded out 12 hits for the game, including three solo home runs. Meanwhile, defensively, Gott slammed the door shut; allowing just three Pella hits while striking out five and walking just one.

Bri Arkema suffered the loss for Pella, allowing 12 hits while striking out two and walking three. At the plate, Lindsay Mueller, Diana Zabrodova and Molly Lanke all singled, as the Lady Dutch end their season at 19-11 overall. Oskaloosa improved to 23-12 and will face Carlisle in the Regional Semifinals Saturday night.
