Pleasantville needed extra innings, but survived their first-round District Tournament contest at Lynnville-Sully; defeating the host Hawks 7-4 in nine innings Tuesday night.

Starting pitcher Collin Thomas was on top of his game, striking out 11 Lynnville-Sully batters through six innings of work; but miscues cost the Trojans’ 4 unearned runs and let the Hawks hang around. Kendal Clarke came in to pitch the final three innings, striking out three and earning the win for Pleasantville.

At the plate, Zeb Adreon was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Patrick Sheehey was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Pleasantville improves their season record to 23-9 and will face North Mahaska on Thursday in Sully. The Warhawks defeated Montezuma Tuesday night 3-0.
