The Pella High volleyball team went 1-2 Tuesday night in a home quad.

The Lady Dutch opened the evening with a strong start, sweeping Gilbert in two games 25-15, 25-18. Competition got tougher after that, though, as Pella was defeated 25-12, 25-15 by Bondurant-Farrar; then fell to A-D-M 25-17, 25-22 in their final match of the night.

Pella High head volleyball coach Catie Brand said it was an “up and down” night, as it felt like there were times when everything clicked mixed in with moments where the squad looked like a young team. Still, Brand says the team is continuing to get better as a group and overall she was encouraged by what she saw Tuesday night.

The Lady Dutch return to competition Saturday in a tournament at Iowa City High.
