As previously reported on KNIA/KRLS, brothers Cole and Drew Janssen of Pella recently returned from a trip to South Dakota after capturing a seemingly unheard of four combined International Karting Federation Grand National titles. On tonight’s Marion County PM Sports Page program, 15-year-old Cole and 13-year-old Drew will join KNIA/KRLS Sports Director Eric Gotschall to talk about their experience on karting’s biggest stage, and what it took to get to this point in their racing careers.

“As soon as we won the first one [Grand National Title]…we would have been perfectly happy if we’d have come home with just that,” said Drew, “and to get three more was just amazing for us and a lifelong dream, really.”

Cole says he sees the success, not as the pinnacle of their careers, but rather as the base for greater things to come.

“It was a great chance to start competing with the best competition in the world, really,” added Cole. “We’ve been racing with the big competition, and it’s great to do that to show what you have. It’s really a great starting point in our careers.”

You can catch the entire interview tonight on the Marion County PM Sports Page – which starts at approximately 6:30 p.m. on KNIA/KRLS.
