After about two weeks of practice, the Knoxville Football Squad is coming together. Coach Troy Rider enters his third season with several starters back at the skill positions on offense. While a question mark may be an inexperienced line, he has confidence the skill guys can get the job done. At the skill positions on offense will be Gerrit Davis who was the backup quarterback last season and will take over the signal caller role. Rider says he has been a very accurate passer in the preseason. At running back will be the Panthers’ workhorse Colton Spaur, who in just five games last season led the team in rushing. At receiver will be a crop of speedsters staring with leading returning pass catcher Ryan Douglas. Along with Douglas will be sophomore Tanner Dunkin and senior Reed Long. Defensively, Spaur, Lucas Burke, along with Jalen Frost and second leading tackler from season Aaron Crossett will anchor the line backers.
