After weeks of camp and practicing against itself, the Knoxville Football Squad will take to the field to open up the 2012 season against a very familiar opponent. For the 12th straight season, the Panthers will start the football campaign against P-C-M. The Mustangs opened the their season last week, which Knoxville Coach Troy Rider says may give them an advantage in the fact they have a game to work off of. Rider says while victory tonight is the goal, he also wants to answer some lingering questions about some key areas for his team. Gerrit Davis will be the new signal caller for the Panthers. Rider says he has done well in preseason practices, and knows the playbook inside and out. He adds the front line will get tested on both sides of the ball. You can hear the play-by-play on AM 1320 KNIA with Derek Cardwell and Randy Wilson starting with the pregame show at seven, kick off is at 7:30.
