A trio of Pella High players –  including two First Teamers – headline this year’s local All-District baseball selections.  The annual honorary teams were recently released by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.

In Class 3A, Pella High landed three players on All-District squads.  Junior Jacob Gleason was tabbed as a First Team pitcher for the Southeast District, while fellow pitcher and outfielder Schyler Kane, a senior, was selected First Team Utility.  Junior Ryan Shull was chosen as a Second Team All-District selection at outfielder.

A pair of local outfielders make the list in Class 2A, as Pella Christian’s Jordan Rossler and PCM’s Hutch Burns were each Second Team choices in the Southeast and Central Districts, respectively.

Pleasantville’s Collin Thomas was the only local player selected in Class 1A, as the senior pitcher is a First Team All-Southwest District selection.  In addition to that honor, Thomas was also chosen for the 26th Annual All-Academic First Team.  The honor is bestowed upon only the top twenty senior players in the state who demonstrate outstanding academic, moral and athletic characteristics.
