Following a pair of hard-earned wins to open their season, the coaching staff of the Melcher-Dallas football team is continuing to identify ways to make their players better prepared for their next match-up. Last week the Saints emphasized improved tackling, and while they looked better in that area against Twin Cedars, the Sabers did expose their pass defense some with a wide open offensive attack.

“We’re going to make a point of emphasis on pass coverage. Twin Cedars liked to spread us out – especially in the second half – [where] they went four-wide a lot; which is as wide as you can get in eight-man,” said Melcher-Dallas head coach Ryan Conrad. “They got us a couple of times, but I think our pass coverage is going to be much-improved moving forward.”

The Saints will likely see several passing plays when they host Seymour on Friday night. The Warriors have had to play from behind for much of their first two games this season in a pair of lopsided losses.
