The PCM football team gets in their final full-contact practice of the week today before their next contest, and head coach Greg Bonnett is making sure his team gets the most out of it. Following last Friday night’s exciting 27-26 win at Roland-Story, Bonnett is trying to get his inexperienced squad up to varsity speed as quickly as possible.

“We’ve got sophomores playing out there everywhere; we’ve got a ton of juniors out there, and most of them never played anything more than freshman or JV ball. I think they’ve practiced better than they played,” said Bonnett. “Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not taking anything away from our win – a win is a win – but all my guys know and all my coaches know that we have a lot of improvement to make.”

The Mustangs try to open the season with two straight wins, as they’ll host Knoxville on Friday at PCM High School in Monroe – a game that can be heard live on kniakrls.com and AM 1320 KNIA.
