The downtown area has a few more parking spots after crews sandblasted and repainted spots on Franklin St. early Tuesday morning. The new spots are at a standardized 9 feet in width, and at an angle of 60 degrees, rather than the previous 45. This will allow around 10 extra spaces per block in the Central business District. It is being tried out on Franklin first, and if all goes well it will be expanded to the other 5 blocks of Pella’s downtown, adding around 60 spots.
