Though the Trojans were able to break through in the second half, the Blue Devils of Martensdale–St. Marys offense proved to be too powerful as the Blue Devils defeated the Trojans 46 – 21.

Austin Streyfeller scored 21 uanswered points in the first half alone, as the Blue Devils jumped out to an early 27 – 0 lead. It took a well-placed pass from Hagan Fouch to senior Chris Peden to break the Trojans’ drought in the first half with a 33 yard passing touchdown to make the score 27 – 7 at half. After another touchdown reception by Austin Streyfeller, his fourth of the game, Trey Busick and Mac Moore each found the end zone to make the game 40 – 21, but that’s all the closer the Trojans would get.

Trey Busick was the leading rusher for both teams, gaining 96 yards on the ground on 21 carries. “I don’t know if you know Trey Busick very well, but you can’t tell if he’s happy, sad, tired or what,” said Trojans’ head coach Gabe Bakker. “We finally opened up some holes and he hit them hard.” The loss drops the Trojans to 0 – 2 on the season.

Pleasantville will open district play next week at Montezuma with the game starting at 7PM on kniakrls.com.
