After a slow start in its first two games, the Central College men’s soccer team secured its first season win against Augustana College defeating the Vikings 5-2 Tuesday. Central had a strong start to the game when forward Jordan Appenzeller scored the first goal in the sixth minute. The Dutch led at the half, 3-1. In the second half, Central quickly responded to an Augustana goal to stem any shift in momentum and come away with the three-goal win. The Dutch men are now 1-1-1 on the season and head back to their home pitch Friday night, where they’ll take on Millikin.
