Stud running back Quentin Garrells was too much for the Pleasantville football team on Friday night, as Pekin steamrolled the Trojans 61-21. Garrells rushed for 250 yards and six touchdowns as part of over 400 yards on the ground for Pekin’s punishing rushing attack. Eight of the Panthers’ nine touchdowns came on the ground.

Pleasantville certainly turned things around after last week’s loss to Montezuma, though; achieving seven first downs in the first half, and converted a few third downs. Pleasantville was able to find some holes in the Panthers defense in the first half, as quarterback Hagan Fouch connected on a 66-yard touchdown reception to Chris Peden – and later – found Patrick Sheehey downfield for an 84-yard scoring strike.

“We tried to get a one-on-one situation with Patrick because he’s athletic enough to go up and get a ball,” Trojan head coach, Gabe Bakker said. “I told Fouch, it doesn’t matter what it looks like, just throw it up high to some of those guys and let them make play.”

The loss drops Pleasantville to 0–4 on the year and 0-2 in Class A District 6. The Trojans will look for their first win the of the season on the road next Friday in Brooklyn against B-G-M.
