The Knoxville and Pella Christian cross country teams enjoyed a break away from some of the usual competition with a meet Tuesday in Oskaloosa.

In the boys’ meet, Knoxville scored 128 points to claim fourth place; led by individual champion Wick Cunningham – who breezed to victory by :30 seconds. Pella Christian’s boys finished in ninth in the team standings with 210 points and were paced by medalist Jacob Lensing, who finished in 14th place. Newton won the boys team title, followed by Williamsburg and host Oskaloosa.

In the girls competition, Courtney Hughs of Knoxville finished in 19th place to lead the Panthers to a seventh-place finish in the team standings. Williamsburg won the team title. Pella Christian did not field a full girls varsity team, but were led by Marina Shannon, who placed 45th at the Edmundson Course in Oskaloosa.
