The Knoxville Raceway is gearing up for their last racing weekend of the year as they host the Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals. Clear skies are expected throughout the three-day event that starts tonight. The winner receives $40,000. Marketing Director Brian Stickel expects a record car count for the ninth annual event – as of the beginning of the week, 71 drivers had registered, and more were expected. A number of past champions and some of the top names in dirt car late model racing will be in town to spin the wheels at the famous half-mile.
