Facing top programs from not only Iowa, but several neighboring states, the Pella High cross country teams finished in 14th and 19th places, respectively, at Saturday’s Des Moines Roosevelt Invite – held at the Iowa State University course in Ames.  The Dutch competed against teams from Nebraska and South Dakota, amongst others, in a field that included programs from 31 schools.  Evan Jones was Pella High’s top finisher on the boys’ side, claiming 29th place; while Gabi Meirick paced the Lady Dutch squad with a 57th place finish.  In the boys’ race, Dowling claimed the team title out of six schools that were ranked number one in their home state.
