The Pella High football team is back on the road tonight for another Class 3A District 8 test – this time against Carlisle. The Little Dutch are 2-2 overall and 1-0 after last week’s narrow 14-13 win over Knoxville. The Wildcats are also 2-2 overall, but 1-1 in district play after being stung last week by Winterset. Little Dutch head football coach Jay McKinstrey says taking care of the football is something he will make sure his players know is important tonight.

“I’ll say the same thing that we’ve said every year we’ve played Carlisle, and that’s that turnovers have been a big deal,” said McKinstrey. “That seems to be a big factor whenever we play them as far as making a difference and turning the game one way or the other. I certainly hope we can win that battle tonight.”

Coverage of tonight’s Class 3A District 8 football game in Carlisle will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS and streamed at kniakrls.com with Eric Gotschall and Randy Sikkema providing the play-by-play. Coverage begins at 6:45 with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
