Facing more highly-ranked competition in the early part of the season, the Pella High volleyball team came away with a 1-2 mark at Saturday’s Iowa City High Invitational.  

The Lady Dutch opened up with a straight-set loss to No. 6 North Scott – which limited Pella to an average of 13 points per game.  The Lady Dutch came back strong against Iowa City High, though, challenging the Class 5A top-ranked Little Hawks two a pair of two-point losses in a 3-0 setback.  Pella closed out the day with a straight-set sweep of Davis County 25-20, 25-23, 25-22.  

The Lady Dutch are now 4-7 overall on the season and return to action after Labor Day with a home match against Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday.
