After a weekend off to rest and refocus, the Pella High volleyball team returns to action tonight with a Little Hawkeye Conference match against Grinnell. Pella head coach Catie Brand says the team has taken advantage of the time off to concentrate on the things they’ll need to do tonight to be successful.

“We play at their [Grinnell’s] home court, so that’s always something that you want to plan for when you face an opponent,” said Brand. “We’re going to focus on eliminating our errors, and then continuing to attack their defense; and as soon as we get our team communicated what that is, we’ll look for shots to hit.”

The Lady Dutch are 7-11 overall as they enter just their second league contest this fall. The Tigers, meanwhile, boast an 11-3 record and have won eight straight matches, dating back to the end of August. That win streak helped push Grinnell into the No. 15 spot in the latest Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union rankings.

The opening serve tonight between Pella and Grinnell is set for approximately 7:15 p.m. at Pella High School.
