Pleasantville Football Trying to Balance Fun with Focus this Week

It’s Homecoming this week at Pleasantville, and the Trojans football team is trying to find a way to secure their first win amidst the energy and fanfare that comes with the annual fall tradition.
“We’re going to have to get better in all aspects of the game.  We’ve got to come out and give ourselves a chance in the second half,” said Trojans’ head football coach Gabe Bakker.  “And we have to do all of this with all the distractions of Homecoming week, because there’s distractions every day and every night.  It’s tough on high school kids, but we’ve got to come out swinging.”

Pleasantville is 0-5 overall and 0-3 in Class A District 6.  Unfortunately for the Trojans, the parade of tough district teams continues on Friday night, as Bakker will try and lead his troops to their first victory of the season against a Lynnville-Sully squad that is 3-2 and coming off of a dominant 61-0 win over Southeast Warren this past Friday.
