Pleasantville tries to notch their first win of the football season tonight, as Pekin rolls into town for a Class A District 6 match-up. It will be another tough opponent for the Trojans, as the Panthers have looked strong on both sides of the ball and rolled up three straight wins to start the season.

Pleasantville head football coach Gabe Bakker says he’s asking his team to go hard all four quarters if they want to give themselves an opportunity to claim the win.

“We’ve got to just preach to our kids ‘do what we can do. Try not to do something we’re not.’ We need to be in the right spot offensive line-wise and defensive line-wise, and just work our tails off,” said Bakker. “It’s going to take 48 minutes for us to be in this game, and we need to do that. We haven’t done that yet this year, and it needs to happen.”

Live coverage of the game will be streamed at kniakrls.com with Cory Houser and Jim Dingeman in Pleasantville for the play-by-play. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight, with kickoff between the Trojans and Panthers set for 7:00 p.m.
