A pair of top-ten finishes helped the Pella Christian boys cross country team secure a second-place finish at Thursday’s Lynnville-Sully Invite, while the Lady Eagles claimed 5th in the girls race.

Jacob Lensing finished sixth individually, just three spots ahead of teammate Ryen Van Vark as the Eagles totalled a score of 74 – just five points behind winner Davis County. Max Shannon was just outside the top ten for the Pella Christian boys, finishing 12th. In the girls’ race, Marina Shannon finished 19th to lead Pella Christian, with the Lady Eagles’ fielding a full varsity squad and tallying 164 points.

After five meets in two weeks to start the season, the Pella Christian cross country teams get a much-deserved week off from competition. They’ll run next Thursday at the Gateway Golf Course in Monroe at a meet hosted by PCM.
