Following a 21 – 18 loss to rival Simpson this past Saturday, Central College head football coach, Jeff McMartin, is looking for ways to keep his defense rested and have his offense sustain some drives for their upcoming game against Buena Vista. “[Converting third downs] is something we’ve really got to get better at,” Coach McMartin said. “We’ve got to find ways to get first downs. We had a good drive to start out with and then we got a holding penalty. We’re just not able to continue to convert that. Those are things that we’ve really got to get better at.” Coach McMartin added that he would like to see his guys do a better job at winning the battle of field position, and not always have his offense’s backs up against the goal line to start each drive. Saturday’s Iowa Conference game kicks off at 1:00 p.m.
