Starting the high school football season with five consecutive wins, you don’t normally talk about a team being “on the bubble” of a playoff berth, but for the Pella Christian Eagles, it has become a reality. After losing two consecutive games to Ogden and Van Meter, the Eagles football team finds themselves almost in a must-win situation, though Eagles head coach, Rich Kacmarynski, said that every game is a “must-win game.” Kacmarynski added that the Eagles haven’t lost consecutive games since 2004. The Eagles are 5 – 2, with a 2 – 2 record in Class 1A District 7. Colfax-Mingo comes into Friday’s game with a 2 – 6 record on the year, having lost their last five consecutive games, all against district opponents.
