Forget about the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals. The Monday night match-up you’ll want to be a part of is that of the Little Dutch and the Raiders. Williamsburg has peeled off nine consecutive wins after losing in week one to still-undefeated Grinnell, 21 – 10. The Raiders have the appearance of a balanced team on all sides of the ball. They’ve forced 30 turnovers (16 fumbles and 14 interceptions), have five players who have rushed for at least 100 yards, four them are over the 300 mark, and two quarterbacks who have passed for over 500 yards effectively. Pella’s defense was the story in their round one win over Keokuk on Wednesday, taking advantage of several Chiefs mistakes, as well as sustaining some big drives in the second half en route to a 38 – 14 victory. Both teams will be trying to make it to the state quarterfinals, with the winner of Monday’s match to face either Washington or Class 3A District 8 champion Winterset. Monday night’s game will be live on 92.1 KRLS starting at 6:15 p.m.
