The PCM Mustangs ended a tumultuous 2012 season with a 24-7 loss to the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks Wednesday night in Wellman. Coach Greg Bonnet dropped a bombshell, when he shifted strategies and gave freshman quarterback Logan Gillman his first varsity start with just five days to prepare for the opening round of the playoffs. The first time signal caller started 4 for 8 with 61 yards, but struggled to sync up timing routes with the Mustang receiving corps and ended the night 10 for 25 with 174 yards and an interception. Blake McWilliams was a beast in the backfield carrying the ball 23 times for 139 yards, 109 of those in the first half. Mid-Prairie will now travel to Bondurant-Farrar next Monday October 29th with the winner likely to face Mediapolis in the state quarterfinals. As for the Mustangs, 2013 should be an outstanding season, with a plethora of talent returning and a strong-armed sophomore in Logan Gillman at quarterback.
