Temperatures in Marion County approached records last night, but didn’t quite meet them. The lowest temperature recorded was 25 degrees. The record was 24, set in 1952. The National Weather Service reports that warming temperatures are expected both today and Monday. While highs will range from 50 east to 60 west today, much warmer readings are expected Monday with highs near 60 east and about 75 west. Along with the warmer temperatures, winds will increase to 15 to 30 mph with higher gusts by mid to late afternoon on Monday. Over portions of western and northwest Iowa relative humidity levels will be getting quite dry by afternoon. Because of this, there is an increased fire danger across portions of our west and northwest Monday afternoon. Monitor later forecasts for the latest updates.
