The Pleasantville Trojan football team is finally seeing the bright light at the end of the tunnel. After facing six teams at the beginning of the season with a combined 24 – 12 record, the Trojans will be playing their last three games against teams with a cumulative 3 – 18 mark. Trojans head coach, Gabe Bakker, said that he’s optimistic, but doesn’t want to count his chickens before they hatch. “Who knows what’s going to happen in these three games?” Coach Bakker said. ”There’s a pool of four teams in the bottom half and four teams in the upper half, and we’re in the portion of the schedule where now we have to have taken what we have learned from these six games, do something with it, and be in the game four quarters, and that’s all you can ask.” The Trojans are practicing this week on the heels of a 70 – 0 defeat handed to them by Lynnville-Sully last Friday. It will be the battle of the winless this Friday, as Pleasantville will play their final road game at Southeast Warren at 7 p.m.
