Coach Aaron Allspach couldn’t be more proud of his Twin Cedars Sabers’ football team and the way they fought against number one Murray in the opening round of the Eight-Man State Playoffs on Wednesday. Though they lost 62 – 19, the challenge Allspach laid out to his Sabers was to make the playoffs. It took a week nine trouncing of Tri-County, but Twin Cedars did just that and were rewarded with getting to face the number one ranked Murray Mustangs in the opening round. Coach Allspach told KNIA/KRLS sports that his kids “didn’t care” that they were probably going to have to face Murray in the opening round of the 2012 state playoffs, they just wanted to get to the playoffs. Mission accomplished. The Sabers ended the season at 5 – 5.
